[ In the Raccoon Room, Wu wanders around until he finds Bolin. Eddie's words are rattling in his brain, and he needs to do this, to have this conversation, even if his heart is in his throat.
When he does find Bolin, he hangs out by the doorway for a moment before clearing his throat ]

[He isn't hard to find, really. Bolin is in what is rapidly being used as the storage room, sat in the middle of the floor with a heavy, emerald, velvet curtain in his lap and a needle and thread in his hand. There's a basket of small green marbles to his side with very delicate little holes drilled through every last one to make beads which he is stitching into the curtain's fringe. Add that little bit of sparkle, you know? Some pizzazz.
Pabu isn't too far away, chasing around a little moth. There's music playing on Bolin's Omni, up out of reach on the windowsill. Some slow big band number that reminds him of home.
When he's called, he looks up, smiles, and lowers his needlework. All the Coldbloods are on edge this month and everyone else is getting eaten by bloodlust but whatever is up their panties has steered clear of this guy. He's snug as a bug in a rug. And there may actually be bugs in this rug.]

[ Well, that sure is a kick in the gut. Wu was just being kind of mean about Bolin and here he is, putting in so much care and work into Wu's big idea. He's a little nervous, which isn't helped by the fact that he hasn't been sleeping very well, and he has this intense desire to fight something, which is so at odds with how he usually is that it scares him a little. A lot.

[It wasn't a huge issue in Deerington because the house was enormous and the world was ending but this place is a lot smaller and he isn't dumb. You lovebirds want to nest, he knows it. And he knows three is a crowd, he just hasn't quiiiite gotten himself something else. It's a little scary, bravado or not, to carve (another) new home without being attached to the hip of his brother.]

It was hard to find out he'd spent three years on something that was ultimately awful. That meant he was the bad guy. And then everything with Opal and her family and then yeah Mako and Wu and for a second or two it felt like his entire life was unraveling at breakneck speed and there was nothing he could do to make it better or fix it and it all seemed so out of his grasp- breathe, Bolin. Whooooooooooosah.

He takes a deep breath, letting the feelings wash out of him, which he has to do. He can't internalize them, it hurts too much to do that.

I just really connect with his music, and maybe it's a little raunchy, but it's because he's pushing back on the social stigma of Earth about being a guy who likes guys! That, that video I showed you was literally him reclaiming the idea that gay people are going to hell, which is the place where some people believe that bad people go when they die. So he was using his sexuality to reclaim that narrative.
